Day 01: Nainital

Day 02: Nainital - Almora - Munsiyari

After a hearty breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Munsiyari is located in the Kumaon region in Uttarakhand, It is famous for its wildlife, culture and cuisines. The town is surrounded by thick forests of pine and fir trees and was visited by Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda who have mentioned Almora in their writings. Unlike the neighboring hill stations like Nainital and Shimla which were developed by the British, Almora was developed by the Kumaoni people. The town is also known as the town of temples. Day 03: Munsiyari

After a scrumptious breakfast today process to visit Munsiyari's name refers to a 'Place With Snow'. Situated on the banks of Goriganga River, it is a fast growing tourist destination, and mountaineers, glacier enthusiasts, high altitude trekkers and nature lovers commonly use it as their hub or base camp. Munsiyari also falls on the ancient salt route from Tibet and is at the entrance of the Johar Valley, which extends along the path of the Goriganga River to its source at the Milam Glacier. It is inhabited mainly by the Shauka people. Some of the major attractions of Munsiyari are, Thamari Kund is a quaint natural lake located amidst the paper trees. We were told that it is a natural home of the Musk Deer, Maheshwari Kund, BetuliDhar and Birthi fall. Day 04: Munsiyari - Kausani

After a scrumptious breakfast today, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kausani, there are very few places in the Himalayas which can compare with the beauty of Kausani. Kausani the birthplace of the famed poet SumitraNandan Pant is often referred to as the 'Switzerland of India. Situated among mountains and trees, The Peaks Trishul and Nanda Devi are clearly visible from here. In 1929, Mahatma Gandhi spent 12 days here and brought his thoughts out in his book called Anasakti Yoga. The place where he stayed is called the Anasakti Ashram. Day 05: Kausani - Ranikhet - Nainital Back to Home
